A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME

My history in the fashion industry dates way back to the 90’s - being a Manchester girl and loving the nightlife in Manchester in the early nineties, with the help of the Prince's Trust I decided to open a small shop in the Royal Exchange at the ripe old age of 20. It was called SPANK (don’t ask) and I started off by selling a mixture of luxury fabrics such as itchy lurex and super-hot stretch PVC pants, and of course, catsuits!

Sadly the Manchester Bomb destroyed the shop in 1996 and that led to a new role with a fashion store called BANK.

As ladieswear buyer I saw the start of the mid-market branded fashion coming through with the likes of Miss Sixty, DKNY, Firetrap, Hooch, Bench and the company went from strength to strength. I became head of ladieswear and stayed for 15 years enjoying buying trips abroad and developing brands for the stores alongside designers. My claim to fame is that I spotted and evolved Ugg Boots for the UK market – I am to blame! Sorry!

I really enjoyed my time there but 3 children later and 120 stores I desperately wanted to do part time. This wasn’t an option and in 2012 I left to go it alone. So now I am a one woman band with a real passion for the industry and clothing in general of course.

I buy small brands from UK, Europe and travel extensively to shows in order to find new product for my purpose built studio where ladies pop to shop and get advice 7 days a week.

I try to look for clothing and accessories which are different, on trend and easy to wear for a women/mum in their 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, 60’s and 70’s.

I firmly believe we can still look good and wear interesting product at any age.
